Thanksgiving Day

On Thanksgiving Day our Feed the Need Justin site will be serving Thanksgiving dinner to it’s community. The site will be having a potluck style classic Thanksgiving Dinner from 5pm-6pm. If you’re in the Ft Worth area and you and your family need a hot meal or a place to serve on Thanksgiving, join us at 415 N College Avenue Justin, TX at the Justin City Park.

Thanksgiving Boxed Dinner Giveaway

Feed the Need Missions had the opportunity to partner with Primera Baptist Church this past weekend and provided 220 turkeys for their food pantry distribution. In addition, each Feed the Need site in the Bastrop Area registered families for Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway meals. With your help, we were able to make 140 meal bags and pass out another 210 turkeys, for a total of 430 turkeys.

One dad that stopped by recently lost his job, and he was so thankful to be able to still provide a Thanksgiving meal for his family. His family thanks everyone who has been a part of Feed the Need. “I can’t believe you did this,” his son said while helping him with groceries to his van.

What a blessing it is to know that many families will be able to cook a Thanksgiving meal together!

I have been eagerly waiting for the day to share this news with you. Today, I am pleased to announce that Mission U-Too is officially changing its name to Feed the Need Missions, and we are thrilled to see what God does through this new name.

Seven years ago God burdened my heart to get involved with a group of people that were flipping burgers and telling others about Jesus. They called it Mission U-Too because their heart was aimed to get you involved also.

A year later it became clear that there was more to this simple cookout than just serving burgers in one small town in Texas. God wanted us to spread this ministry and empower people to share their faith with a hurting world that might not typically step foot in a church. Today we serve in six locations across Texas, and are equipped to provide disaster relief in our own communities and across the country if needed.

I have seen this organization build strong communities in the areas where we meet weekly. People are drawn in from all walks of life, and serve together with a heart of making disciples that are passionate about seeing God’s kingdom advance. By using a tool as simple as a burger, the gospel is being shared and people’s lives are being changed. It is truly amazing to watch God expand this ministry and continually remind us of our need for Jesus.

As the ministry has grown, it has been a challenge to explain what our organization does because our name, Mission U-Too, can come across confusing. We began to pray about a new name a few years ago and the past year Feed the Need Missions fell into place. And we couldn’t be more excited about this change.

Our focus is still the same mission, same great people, same free burger, and same desire to spread the gospel by feeding people physically and spiritually. I love the fact that the name not only calls us to action in feeding people, but also reminds us of our need to be fed by Jesus.

Here is a link to our press release and official statement regarding our name change. Please do not hesitate to call or email me with any questions you might have. I hope you are as fired up as we are about this new chapter, we can’t wait to see God move through Feed the Need Missions.

In Him,

Jonah Beyer

The past couple of months, we have been talking about and asking people to partner with us financially each month. Our ask is simple: Can you commit to giving $20 each month?

The ask might be simple, but the impact is huge. When you give $20 a month, you are allowing 10 people to be fed and reached for the Gospel every month. That’s 120 people you are impacting each year, just from giving $20 a month.

On average each community needs $2,500 in monthly pledges to cover all costs. So we set the goal for $20 monthly commitments from 125 people from each community so all our costs are covered and we can focus on pouring into the lives of those who come to Mission U-Too each week.

The progress we have made in less than two months is so encouraging. Currently, we have raised 60% of our overall goal for our six communities. And some individual communities are over 75% funded! Just check out the progress from each of our communities.

Our goal is within sight, but we still need your help to reach it!

If you haven’t had a chance to sign up to give monthly, it’s not too late. Or maybe you are giving monthly, but you are able to give more. Any amount helps us to continue to serve our local communities and spread God’s love.

Simply click here or the button below to sign up now.

Are you in?

School is out and summer has officially begun! Summer is an excellent time to serve with Mission U-Too, and we’d love to have you and your family join us at one of our site locations.

Simply swing on by and hop on the line to serve with us. We set up an hour before each feeding and need help tearing down afterwards. All ages are welcome to volunteer, however, you must stay with your children at all times.

We hope to see you this summer! Read more

As God leads and we humbly follow, it is exciting to see how He continues to expand our reach. Yes, another milestone as we have just hired Jace Allen to help us oversee and further develop the Bastrop Area. This is exciting for so many reasons.

If you have not had the opportunity to meet Jace yet, I strongly encourage you to do so. He has a heart to serve the Lord, share the Gospel, and make disciples with everyone he meets. His love for the Lord and others overflows contagiously. We are truly blessed to have him as part of the team. This is also exciting giving us the opportunity and ability to start more sites in the area and freeing me up as we begin to develop new areas outside of Bastrop.

Jace has been serving at our Giddings location for the last three years and has an incredible heart for anyone and everyone that they serve. Seeing the gospel shared and lives changed in so many ways, we watched God continuing to grow a deeper and deeper desire for Jace to join our team in developing this mission.

Would you join with us in prayer?
Pray for Jace and the work God has called him to do in and through Feed the Need Missions.
Pray for the people that God has called us to feed physically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
Pray for those that serve with us that God would continue to equip us as we go forth making disciples.

God is truly at work in the lives of so many and I continue to be humbled at all that he is doing.

“Feed the Need Missions isn’t just changing the lives of the people we serve, but changing the lives of all of us; both sides of the serving tables. When we allow the Gospel to meet us, believers and unbelievers alike, where we are then Jesus is able to do amazing things!” -Jace Allen

We are excited to announce the launch of our new site in Justin, TX!

This is extra exciting because not only is this a new site, but it’s a start of a new area. Developing the Denton area has been in the works for a number of years. We have been praying about the area; more specifically praying with the leader for the possibility of developing a new area.

Brandon has been a friend and instrumental over the years in helping us think through and walking out the heart of this ministry. Brandon has answered the call that God has burdened his heart with in helping us continue to grow this ministry.

As we begin to develop this area we ask that you would join us in prayer. Pray for our leaders that they would follow God in their word and actions. Pray for our volunteers that they would show the unconditional love of Jesus. Pray for those we serve that their hearts would be open to hearing and receiving the Gospel message and they would feel the love of Christ through our actions.

If you are in the Denton area we would love for you to stop by and say hi or jump in and help out. All our welcome, you are welcome. We serve Thursday 5:30-6:30 at Justin City Park. Learn more about our Justin site here.

I can’t tell you how excited I am about the things that are happening throughout Mission U-Too. God is definitely at work in some mighty ways! The past year has been a time of learning for us as an organization.

We’ve been learning about areas of possible weaknesses in the ministry and what we need to do to shore those areas up. We’re also learning how to better equip our site coordinators who run our locations so they can be as effective as possible in sharing the Gospel and teaching their volunteers to do the same. And we’ve been putting together a prayer team with the goal of having prayer warriors praying for Mission U-Too and the people we serve around the clock. We are so very humbled and excited in the way God is using us and growing us in all these areas and more.

As this year continues to fly by things seem to be moving faster and faster, which is exciting, but it is also showing us how much God is in control and we are not. We are working on multiple new Mission U-Too locations, training for 100’s of volunteers to be equipped to share the Gospel with the 1,000’s of people we serve each month throughout our locations, as well as equipping and preparing our disaster relief efforts to be ready to respond in time of need. As you can imagine there is a lot of work that is going on behind the scenes to make all this possible, and at the center of it all we find ourselves constantly needing to rely more on Jesus. Because without Him none of this is possible.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers and if you have not already, consider partnering with us so that together we may continue to expand the Kingdom of Heaven through Jesus our Lord. Here are a few opportunities of what you can do to help:

  • PRAY :: Pray for our leadership team, pray for the seeds we are planting, pray for God’s provision, pray for salvation.
  • SERVE :: We have dozens of opportunities to serve from helping at one of our sites, maintenance, administration, story telling and much more.
  • GIVE :: Your gifts means so much to us and we thank you for your support! Without your donations we would not be able to reach as many people as we do. If you have not already, I would like to challenge you to partner with Mission U-Too through giving. I truly believe God is at work here!

I am so thankful and overwhelmed at all God has done through Mission U-Too over the years, and look forward to seeing what He has in store down the road. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us.
