Impact Stories: Giddings

From now until the end of the year we will be sharing stories from each of our sites across Texas. Every site has the same mission: to feed people physically and spiritually. We see God using our volunteers and those that come to grow and build relationships with those in Christ. Here are just a few of the stories from our sites this past year.

GIDDINGS serves every Sunday starting at 5:00pm at Giddings Food Pantry located at 190 North Harris, Giddings, TX 78942.

Lewis & Debbie

Lewis and Debbie have been married for 46 years. They have two biological children and two adopted. They heard about Feed the Need Mission through Ridgeway Baptist Church where they are currently attending. “Part of our gifting from God has been hospitality, it’s almost like a natural instinct for us to help,” Debbie said. “When we heard about the ministry and the weekly feeding of feeding people both physically and spiritually, we both looked at each other and this is what we’ve been waiting for. For a ministry where we can help other people outside of church.”

Being together for over 50 years they love that they can serve together and grow together. “We get more out of Feed the Need Missions than what we give in to the ministry,” she said with tears in her eyes. They are in love with the ministry and enjoy sharing their past stories to help others in their own situations.

“I just can’t explain how it makes us feel, it’s God’s glow” they said with excitement. “Being able to talk about Jesus and meeting a physical need changes people. We have grown so much together as a couple. It’s a great reminder of being united. First with God, then our marriage, and now together we can minister to those in need.”
