BASTROP COMMUNITY HAPPENINGS
Look what’s happening in Bastrop County! There are plenty of places to serve and organizations that are giving back. You can too! Donate your time, give back and serve your community by joining/partnering with any of the listings. All community happenings are not facilitated with Feed the Need Missions, we are just helping spread the word.
Operation Christmas Cop
Bastrop Police Department is partnering with the community to make children’s wishes come true this Christmas. They are accepting applications until November 30, 2017 at 3:00pm. All applicants must reside inside the city limits of Bastrop. Fill out your application at the Bastrop Police Department located at 304 Grady Truck Lane and be sure to include one form of identification: Drivers License, Passport etc. AND one current bill with City of Bastrop address: Utility Bill, Cable Bill etc.

Operation Christmas Cop is also accepting financial donations and NEW unwrapped gifts. Simply drop off your donations at the Bastrop Police Department: Operation Christmas Cop.
Vato Claus is Coming to Town
In The Streets Hands Up High Ministry Evangelist Nava will be coming to your neighborhood to deliver gifts on Christmas Day with the first stop on Linden St. in Bastrop and all through the town. Last stop will be in Stony Point at Duron’s Grocery Store. Times of drop off’s is still being determined. Ways to get involved:
Donate new toys for ages newborn to 17 to the toy drive. Please make sure all gifts are UNWRAPPED. All toys can be dropped off at the following location: The Open Door Soup Kitchen located at 987 State Highway 95 in Bastrop.
Primera Baptist Church Christmas Extravaganza
Every year Primera Baptist Church serves the community by hosting a Christmas Extravaganza. On December 16, 2017 from 9am-12pm they will be giving away Christmas gifts and coats to those who are already registered with Primera Baptist (registration deadline is closed). Refreshments and snacks will be available to the patrons.
The Food Pantry at the church will be open for anybody who is eligible or wishes to sign up to receive free groceries on the same day from 9am-12pm at Primera Baptist Church located at 301 Paul C Bell St. in Bastrop.
Ways to get involved:
Primera Baptist is looking for people to make some pastries for the refreshment table on December 16. They are also in need of donated gifts. Please make sure all gifts have age (0-99), gender, and size (if applicable). For more information contact Erika at 512-731-2178.
Blue Santa of Smithville
Blue Santa Applications are available for pick up at the Smithville Police Department. Application deadline is December 1, 2017. You must live within the Smithville school district and provide necessary documentation to qualify. Children must be 12 years and under.
