Tuesday Prayer
Prayer develops our relationship with God. If we never speak to our spouse or never listen to anything our spouse might have to say to us, our marriage relationship will quickly deteriorate. It is the same way with God. Prayer—communicating with God—helps us grow closer and more intimately connected with God.
John 15:7 says “But if you stay joined to me and my words remain in you, you may ask any request you like, and it will be granted!”
The Lord instructs us to pray. And on behalf of Mission U-Too we are asking you to pray for us!
On Tuesday’s at noon we ask that everyone says a prayer for Mission U-Too. Your prayer doesn’t have to be lengthy or in depth. In fact here is a list of a few things we need prayer for.
1. Pray for the people Mission U-Too is reaching. Each location is different and unique in it’s own way. In some locations we serve there is a lot of drug and or alcohol addicts. A few other locations we serve there are a lot of homeless people. And even other locations we serve there are single moms and many children. And some are even every class of people: upper, middle, and lower. Therefore we serve anyone and everyone who needs a meal or a simple conversation. Pray for their hearts to be changed, for addictions to be broken, for weak to become strong, and for salvation.
2. Be in prayer for our volunteers. Our volunteers help Mission U-Too fulfill our mission–feeding people physically and spiritually. Volunteering time after time, week after week can make you weary. Luke 18:1 says “Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.” Pray our volunteers will remain strong and that Mission U-Too is a desire of their heart and not just a place they can boast about themselves. Pray for their words, their actions, and their deliverance in those they serve too.
3. Leadership for Mission U-Too. As Mission U-Too grows and more locations are being started in new communities, we have the need for more leadership roles. Pray for more leadership. Pray for discernment for new and old site coordinators and for their volunteer team. Pray for our board members, President, Founder and for the direction of Mission U-Too.
Every person that served with Mission U-Too is very important in helping us grow God’s kingdom. Never do we want anyone to go unnoticed for their volunteering. Mission U-Too is very blessed to have so many of you to serve along the side of us and for your support and prayers.
Again, pray for us every Tuesday at noon. Set a reminder on your calendar, on your phone, on your computer, in your daily planner or however you need to be reminded. Pray right where you are!
And be diligent in praying for us every Tuesday. Ephesians 6:18 says “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.” Allow the Holy Spirit to help you in prayer and allow Him to lead your prayers.
Thank you in advance.
Serving Christ,
Romans 8:26-27
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will. (NIV)
I am very excited to be involved with Mission U-Too
