I HAVE TO STAY HYDRATED
“People know how to talk the talk but they don’t know how to walk the walk,” Jason said. “You can’t trust very many people anymore so I just stick to myself.”
Jason has been living on the streets of Bastrop for six years. He comes to our weekly feedings for nourishment. “There’s times that I don’t eat for days,” he said. “And now that summer is coming it gets hot and I have to drink more to stay hydrated. I drink a lot of water and lemonade when I come.”
Feed the Need Missions provides cold water and lemonade at each site. During the summer months we make sure we have plenty of water for all of our visitors to stay hydrated. Like Jason said, he comes for the hydration. The hydration of water and community.
Building relationships by sharing a burger with people like Jason has allowed us to instill biblical truth in their life. Jason said, “I’m still not sure about the whole God thing, but I do learn something. Maybe one day I will get it.”
